Housing Set-Up Volunteer
Catholic Charities secures and furnishes housing for newly arrived refugees in Nashville. Move-in volunteers assist in setting up apartments with the provided donated furniture and household items to prepare a welcoming environment for our new clients and their families. Volunteers meet at Catholic Charities at our on-site donation warehouse and help load the necessary supplies and household items into our moving truck. After loading, volunteers and staff travel to the client's home to set everything up. The moves typically last between 2-3 hours and are a perfect opportunity for volunteers who cannot commit to regular hours, but who want to provide hands-on and impactful assistance for our clients. Moves are typically scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Able to join an "as needed" email list with upcoming move dates and communicate availability
- Dependable and hardworking
- Able to lift heavy items
- Willingness to work as a team and follow instructions
