Pathways to Possibilities," Catholic Charities of Tennessee's fundraiser/friendraiser,returns in its original luncheon format noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Music City Center. Former Mayor Karl Dean will serve as special guest host and emcee for the event.
"We are very excited to have ‘Pathways to Possibilities' back as a luncheon," said Mark Barry, Catholic Charities' director of Mission Advancement. The 2013 and 2014 editions were luncheons held at the Hutton Hotel; last year was a virtual, or phantom, event.
Three hundred or more are expected, he added. "Table captains have done a tremendous job of inviting guests. We have reached out to our supporters, as well. Everyone is welcome to attend."
The purpose of "Pathways to Possibilities" is twofold: to generate unrestricted dollars for the agency's use, especially with more critical underfunded basic needs programs, and to increase awareness of the many services provided by Catholic Charities to Middle Tennesseans in need.
"Our vast array of services does not allow us to capture what we do in a single phrase ... providing ‘Pathways to Possibilities' is probably as close as we can come," explained Barry.
"Catholic Charities is here when people have just about run out of options," he added. "Whether the person in need is a woman in the midst of a crisis pregnancy, someone looking for a process to work through life's day-to-day challenges, a homeless family looking for permanent housing, refugees looking to make new lives for themselves here in Middle Tennessee, families needing a safe, love-filled environment for their elders while the family is away during the day, or more, Catholic Charities is here to help."
"We have been blessed with amazing sponsors," Barry said. "Thanks to their generosity, there is no charge to
attend ‘Pathways to Possibilities.' Each and every dollar donated at the event will go directly to providing services to those in need."
