The Adult Day Program of Catholic Charities of Tennessee will host an Open House on Tuesday, September 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the program’s location at St. Mary Villa campus, 30 White Bridge Road. The Open House will be an opportunity for caregivers and family members to meet with staff and learn about the benefits of the adult day program.
The Catholic Charities Adult Day Program Open House event coincides with National Adult Day Services Week, September 18-24. “Adult Day Services: Building and Supporting Communities” is the theme for the 2011 national observance. Approximately one in four U.S. households provide care to a relative or friend aged 50 or older. More than 150,000 older Americans participate in adult day center programs each day. Approximately 59% of the participants require assistance with at least two activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, or dressing.
