Tennessee Works
Tennessee Works is a new program that provides interns to work for local organizations and companies. The program is designed to help local companies fill a need / position that may not be in their budget but would help their bottom line. Our clients have a desire to gain experience and skills that would help imporive their chances at becoming gainfully employed. It could be that our clients want to change professions but have no experience in their career interest area. This is a win-win opportunity for both the companies we partner with and our clients.
Tennessee Works provides interns at no monetary cost to the partner company, and the company trains the client and supervises them. Most clients work up to 20+ hours per week. We currently have partnerships with over 110 local organizations and companies, including Nashville General Hospital, Embassy Suites, HUGGS, Catholic Charities, maximus, and Adventure Science Center. This program presents an advantageous opportunity to local companies. If your company is interested in taking a Tennessee Works intern, we will be happy to meet with you. Volunteer Opportunities
Employment Liaison: Assist Job Developer with identifying entry-level employment opportunities for Tennessee Works customers referred to Catholic Charities. Also, assist in researching new job opportunities in Davidson County. Employment / Job Coach: Provide employment etiquette information to students in the Employment Career Services job readiness classes and assist in mock interviews. Go to Volunteer sign-up form
North Nashville Outreach - Catholic Charities provides temporary and emergency material assistance for residents of North Nashville. This includes a clothing room, emergency food and other assistance.
North Nashville Outreach provides special program activities for the elderly of North Nashville.. This program is located at 2209 Buchanan Street, Suite 200. For more information call 615.242.1554

Volunteer Opportunities - North Nashville Outreach
Sort donated clothing and oversee its distribution. Serve as a receptionist during regular work hours. During the school year serve as a tutor for evening tutorial programs. Serve as a teacher for Vacation Bible School for 2 weeks during the summer. Help stock the food pantry and prepare food baskets. Assist with program activities for senior citizen groups twice a month on Wednesdays during the year, March through December. Go to Volunteer sign-up form

Loaves and Fishes The Loaves and Fishes program provides a hot midday meal to the hungry and homeless in East Nashville on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. It also provides referral for individuals to appropriate services for housing, additional food, and clothing, within their community. The program operates in the Parish Life Center of Holy Name Catholic Church, located behind the church at 508 Main Street.
